Dacor Review

Dacor appliances were founded in Northern California in 1965 when the Joseph family,  who owned and operated a small  local appliance store since 1933, decided to expand on their passion for cooking and invention. The  Josephs innovative thinking led to the invention of many of the industries “firsts” including the 1st 30″ convection oven, drop-in cooktop with continuous grates, indoor electric grill and most importantly the 1st  kitchen ventilation system. They also to my knowledge have the only 30″ dish washer to date. They are American made and family owned and for this I take my hat off to them. Keep the jobs here! Continue reading Dacor Review

Appliances: Do they need to match?

The question I am always asked, as someone who does not stand to make a profit from my clients purchases, “do all my appliances need to match (from the same company)? Well, my opinion is that an appliance is just that…..an appliance. It’s a work horse and should be the function part of your new kitchen. They are not decorative pieces. Their ranges and stove tops  have a high BTU of 18,000 for an extra high heat and an extra low simmer function Continue reading Bosch Review

AGA Cookers Review

AGA Cookers: These are top of the line and very expensive appliances and are favored by the likes of Martha Stuart and Paul McCartney. Designed in 1922 and first introduced in the United Kingdom in 1929, an AGA Cooker is a cast-iron, gas-fueled, enamel-glazed cooking stove that uses non-drying radiant heat to gently cook food, often in less time than a traditional stove. In cooking, the absorption of radiant heat seals the surface, allowing food to retain its natural flavors and moisture. This radiant heat is very forgiving and the gentle, heat in each oven is very constant. This makes it much less critical that food is removed at an exact moment. This is why AGA is called “forgiving.” Continue reading AGA Cookers Review
