Changing the center panel of your cabinets can make an old kitchen look new again.

Another DIY idea for the small budget (short of doing a new kitchen design) that has big impact is to spruce up your old dingy cabinets, for the time being, by popping out the center panels of the wall cabinets and replacing them with any number of the decorative products mentioned below.  Or you can just paint the center panel (if it is flat) with a chalkboard paint to add an artistic and interesting place for art or grocery lists etc.. If you decide to replace the center panel with any hard material like glass, sheet metal,  lattice,  embossed metal tiles or resin panels, just to name a few, you will need to remove the cabinet door from the hinges first. Using Briwax to stain kitchen cabinets

is a good DIY technique to change the look of your kitchen with a small budget, or when you can’t afford a new kitchen design or remodel. I forgot all about this product when I did my previous articles on cabinet quick fixes.  This is a wax with a stain in it and can be used to darken stained cabinets. It works best if your cabinets do not have a shiny top coat especially one that is pealing or cracked. Paint Or Stain your Old Kitchen Cabinets… DIY Quick Fix

Maybe Paint or Stain your old Cabinets to brighten up your old space if your not quite ready for the big remodel.

This is part of a series of articles on how to do a temporary quick fix  in your kitchen if you know you will be able to remodel in a year or two, but you just can’t stand how it looks right now.
